An auxiliary combustion fan is a specialized ventilation device designed to actively supply air (or oxygen) to combustion systems such as boilers, industrial furnaces, incinerators, etc.
An auxiliary combustion fan is a specialized ventilation device designed to actively supply air (or oxygen) to combustion systems such as boilers, industrial furnaces, incinerators, etc. Its core function is to supplement the required oxygen for combustion, optimize the mixture ratio of fuel and air, thereby enhancing combustion efficiency and reducing pollutant emissions.
Core Functions
Oxygen Supply: Forcefully delivers sufficient air to the combustion chamber to meet the oxygen needs for the complete combustion of fuel (such as coal, natural gas, fuel oil, etc.), avoiding incomplete combustion due to lack of oxygen.
Optimized Combustion: By controlling airflow and wind speed, adjusts the mixture ratio of air and fuel (air-fuel ratio), reducing the generation of harmful gases such as black smoke and carbon monoxide.
Stable Operation: Maintains a reasonable pressure within the combustion chamber (usually slightly positive) to prevent backfire, flameout, and other safety issues, ensuring continuous and stable operation of the combustion system.
Working Principles
The motor drives the impeller to rotate, creating negative pressure inside the fan, which draws air from the outside; the air, after being accelerated and pressurized by the impeller, is transported through ducts to specific locations within the combustion system (such as below the grate, near the burner), where it mixes with the fuel and participates in the combustion reaction.
Industrial Sector: Power plant boilers, steel mill heating furnaces, chemical plant reactors, waste incinerators, and other large-scale industrial combustion equipment.
Civil/Commercial Sector: Gas wall-hung boilers, commercial kitchen appliances (some high-power models), small biomass boilers, etc.
Special Scenarios: Hot air furnaces, melting furnaces, and other equipment with high requirements for combustion efficiency and temperature control.
When selecting, focus on the following parameters to match the combustion system's requirements:
Parameter Name\tDescription
Airflow\tVolume of air conveyed per unit time (m³/h or m³/min), needs to be matched with fuel consumption to ensure adequate oxygen supply.
Air Pressure\tPressure required to overcome duct resistance and maintain combustion chamber pressure (Pa or kPa), calculated based on duct length, number of bends, etc.
Motor Power\tPower of the motor driving the fan (kW), directly affecting the fan's airflow and air pressure output capacity.
Rotational Speed\tNumber of revolutions per minute of the impeller (r/min), higher speed generally results in greater airflow and air pressure (needs to match motor power).
Medium Requirements\tTemperature of the conveyed air (ambient temperature / high temperature), dust content (whether a filter is needed), some scenarios require heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials.
Centrifugal combustion aid fan: High air pressure, stable airflow, suitable for complex ducts with high resistance in industrial furnaces (such as boilers), currently the mainstream type.
Axial flow combustion aid fan: Large airflow, low air pressure, suitable for short ducts with low resistance scenarios (such as small incinerators).
High-temperature combustion aid fan: Uses high-temperature resistant materials (such as stainless steel, heat-resistant steel) and sealed structure, can convey high-temperature air (such as for hot air furnaces).
Regular cleaning: Clean the intake filter, impeller, and dust and oil inside the duct to prevent blockages that reduce airflow.
Lubrication maintenance: Add lubricating oil (grease) to the motor bearings according to the manual to avoid increased wear.
Operating condition check: Listen for any abnormal noise or vibration during operation, observe if the current is normal to prevent overload or component damage.
Standby maintenance: If the system has a backup fan, it needs to be switched regularly to avoid faults due to long-term idleness.
