Smoke exhaust fans are ventilation devices used to expel smoke, hot air, and toxic gases, widely applied in building fire protection, industrial exhaust, and other fields.

Working Principle

Smoke exhaust fans are typically driven by motors. When the motor operates, it rotates the impeller at high speed. The impeller uses centrifugal force or axial thrust to impart energy to the gas, increasing its pressure, thus drawing gas from the intake port, accelerating it through the impeller, and discharging it from the outlet port, thereby rapidly expelling smoke, hot air, and other substances.

Performance Features

Excellent high-temperature resistance: For example, the HTF series of fireproof high-temperature smoke exhaust fans can operate continuously for over 60 minutes at 300°C and for 20 hours per cycle at 100°C without damage.

High efficiency: Smoke exhaust fans are designed with aerodynamic performance considerations, achieving significant airflow and total pressure under certain power levels, thereby enhancing smoke exhaust efficiency.

Wide range of pressure and airflow: Different types of smoke exhaust fans with varying pressure and airflow can be provided based on specific application scenarios and needs, with the minimum airflow being 7200m³/h and the maximum airflow not exceeding 60000m³/h.

Types of Smoke Exhaust Fans

Centrifugal smoke exhaust fans: These have higher total pressure, with the motor isolated from high-temperature grease-laden air, making them less prone to damage. They are suitable for applications requiring high wind pressure, such as kitchen exhaust and large industrial plant exhaust.

Axial smoke exhaust fans: These feature simple structure, small size, and easy installation. However, their total pressure is relatively low, making them more suitable for spaces with high spatial requirements and large airflow needs but not particularly high wind pressure, such as underground parking lots and tunnels.

Roof-mounted smoke exhaust fans: Installed on building rooftops, they can be either axial or centrifugal types, generally consisting of components like impellers, ducts, and caps. They can be integrated with fire protection systems for ventilation and smoke exhaust in buildings.

Material Composition of Smoke Exhaust Fans

Housing: Typically made of galvanized steel or stainless steel, providing good high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.

Impeller: Often made of aluminum alloy or high-strength steel to ensure stability at high speeds and temperatures.

Motor: Uses high-temperature insulation materials to allow long-term operation in high-temperature environments.

Bearings: Utilize high-temperature lubricants and specially designed bearings to handle high temperatures and speeds.

Applications of Smoke Exhaust Fans

Smoke exhaust fans are widely used in various buildings and locations, including commercial buildings like shopping malls, office buildings, and hotels, underground spaces like parking lots and subway stations, industrial facilities like chemical plants and warehouses, as well as public places like airports, stadiums, and hospitals. They are used to quickly expel smoke, toxic gases, and hot air during fires, ensuring safe evacuation of personnel and smooth progress of firefighting operations.
