What exactly does this fan do?
The core task of the SDS fan is to drive the air flow in the tunnel, bringing in fresh air and expelling polluted air. It generates thrust through the high-speed rotation of the impeller, like an “air cannon”, pushing the airflow forward. Multiple fans working in succession can ensure ventilation throughout the tunnel. Besides regular ventilation, it can switch to smoke exhaust mode during fires to help control smoke dispersion and ensure personnel safety.

Where can it be used?
This type of fan is mainly used in‌ enclosed or semi-enclosed longitudinal ventilation spaces‌, such as highway tunnels, urban subway sections, railway tunnels, underground pipe galleries, large parking lots, and civil defense projects. Some models can also adapt to high-temperature environments, allowing for short-term operation at 250°C for no more than 1 hour during fires.

How to choose without making mistakes
When selecting SDS fans, several key points should be considered:
– The air volume range is typically between 5000–120000 m³/h.
– The thrust varies from 200N to 2500N.
– The noise should be controlled within 85dB(A).
– The motor protection level should be above IP55.
– Models with bidirectional reversible operation are more practical.
– The price range for regular models is approximately 1.80000 – 1200000 yuan.
– Customized or explosion-proof models may cost over 150000 yuan, depending on the impeller material, motor brand, and intelligent control module.
– During installation, ensure that the axis of the fan is parallel to the centerline of the tunnel to reduce air loss. It is recommended to inspect the motor insulation and bearing lubrication once every 6 months.
